Britannia Fire, a global manufacturer of composite fire extinguishers, has appointed Matt Humby as Head of Client Support and Development following recent investment in its facilities and manufacturing capacity, as the business moves into its next phase of growth.

Matt is well known across the fire safety sector, with over 25 years of experience in technical engagement, customer relationships and supporting organisations through changing fire safety challenges.

In his new role, he’ll focus on strengthening customer support, training and engagement, as well as helping shape future business development across the business.

He said: “I am incredibly excited about my next chapter with Britannia Fire. I’m looking forward to becoming part of a fantastic team, supporting customers and continuing to contribute to an industry I am passionate about.”

His appointment comes during a strong period of growth for Britannia Fire, following investment in its Ashwellthorpe HQ in Norfolk and new manufacturing equipment. This includes a new 350m2 administration centre with offices, meeting rooms and staff facilities for its 56 employees.

The company has also added a second winding machine used in the production of its P50 fire extinguisher range. The £300,000 investment will double output for the composite range as demand continues to grow.

Managing Director Andy Spence said: “It’s a great time to welcome Matt to the team. As we grow, we’re not only investing in production but also in the support, training and development we offer our customers and partners.
Matt’s experience will help us build on our training offer and create more opportunities for learning across the sector.”

Britannia Fire’s P50 range offers a corrosion-resistant alternative to traditional metal extinguishers. They are PFAS free, fully recyclable, last up to 20 years, and require less servicing, helping reduce costs and support sustainability goals.
