Ranger Fire and Security has completed its 15th acquisition since launching in early 2024, welcoming Huddersfield-based Centurion Fire & Security into the group.
The deal marks Ranger’s second acquisition of 2026 and its first in Yorkshire, strengthening the company’s presence across the North of England and expanding its national coverage.
Established in 1974, Centurion has built a long-standing reputation as a maintenance-focused fire and security specialist. The business provides CCTV, fire alarms, intruder alarms and access control systems to a wide range of commercial and public sector clients, including education, healthcare, retail and industrial sites. It is NSI Gold approved across fire, CCTV, intruder and access control disciplines.
Founder David Armstrong will continue to support the business in a consultancy capacity as he moves towards retirement. Nathan Douglas-Smith, who has led day-to-day operations for the past five years, has been appointed Managing Director and will continue to lead the existing team.
Mark Bridges, CEO of Ranger Fire and Security, said the acquisition strengthens Ranger’s footprint in the North and enhances its ability to support customers both regionally and nationally.
David Armstrong commented that Ranger was the right long-term home for the business, citing its commitment to people and customers. Nathan Douglas-Smith added that joining the group will allow Centurion to continue delivering high standards of service while benefiting from wider collaboration and growth opportunities.
With the backing of Hyperion Equity Partners, Ranger continues to expand its UK and Ireland platform through targeted acquisitions, aiming to provide comprehensive fire and security services at both regional and national level.
