FSi Promat, globally renowned for their technical expertise in fire protection, have added a new easy-to-install fire-stopping collar to their passive fire protection range.

The PROMASTOP®-FC MD is a multi-diameter collar designed to seal combustible pipe penetrations through walls or floors in the event of a fire. The collar features an intumescent seal that triggers expansion at around 190 degrees and can resist smoke and flames for up to 2 hours.

The collar has been successfully trested to the EN 1366-3 U/U standard to ensure the seal holds even if both ends of the pipe are open. This configuration supports applications for sevices that are vented to atmosphere, including rainwater pipies, drainage or empty unsealed sleeves.

The U/U classification also covers U/C (Uncapped/Capped), C/U (Capped/Uncapped) and C/C (Capped/Capped) scenarios, in line with the EN1266-3:2021 standard.

Open-ended pipe configurations can allow hot gases and flames to travel through the service, which creates a more severe condition for the seal.

The PROMASTOP®-FC MD is suitable for multiple diameters up to 160mm and can also be modified to length using scissors, which reduces the need for individual collars with different sizes.

It has achieved a fire resistance rating of EI120 U/U for use on PP and PE plastic pipes and multiple pipes in bundles in rigid and flexible walls.
